Dr. Cory Fortson is a third-generation dentist following the career of his Grandfather and Father. Fortson Family Dentistry was started over 30 years ago by Dr. Raymond Fortson, Jr., who went by 'Bo'.
Dr. Cory Fortson joined Dr. Bo in the practice in 2014 after graduating from The University of Detroit Mercy Dental School and took over the practice when Dr. Raymond Fortson, Jr. passed in 2016. The team members at Fortson Family Dentistry pride themselves on the family atmosphere they've created for their patients as well as team members. Fortson Dentistry grew to 5 locations with the addition of the Gentle Touch and Milford practices in 2021.
Comprehensive Care.
We provide top comprehensive dental care within our group practice. In addition to our hygiene patients and routine procedures, we take on more complex procedures such as oral surgery, bone grafts, sinus lifts, soft-tissue grafting and tissue surgeries, wisdom teeth extractions, clear aligners, endodontics, and dental implants, including All-On-4 and All-On-6 dental implants. We have skilled doctors to perform these procedures in-house in most cases. Currently, most specialty services are performed out of our Lathrup Village - South and Milford offices.
Top Technology.
Fortson Family Dentistry utilizes top diagnostic technology to provide the best possible care for our patients. We utilize a Vatech Green CT®, a Dental Cone-Beam CT scanner, which has improved its x-ray sensors to create high-quality images with a relatively low dose of radiation. Used in tandem with advanced 3D Imaging Software; our Doctors get a detailed look at your overall dental health.
We also use various Intraoral scanners such as the Medit i500® and iTero® to create digital impressions of your oral anatomy for crowns and clear aligners. These scanners are more efficient and accurate than traditional impression molds, so you can start your treatment sooner. They also offer a better patient experience compared to traditional impression putty!
Fortson Dentistry also has a SprintRay 3D printer to create lab-quality Surgical Guides and Temporary Implant Crowns in-house in less time. This means fewer appointments for our patients!

Each doctor at Fortson Family Dentistry brings unique strengths and experience to our practice. Oftentimes our Doctors work in tandem to create a comprehensive treatment plan for you that includes general dentistry as well as more complex care. Depending on your treatment requirements, you may be referred to another Doctor or Office within our overall practice.
