All-On-Four Dental Implants
“All-On-4,” or “All-on-four dental implants” refer to when an arch of teeth in the mouth is supported by four dental implants. Dental implants are titanium posts that your oral surgeon places into the jawbone, beneath your gum.
Once the dental implants are in place, they are ready for replacement, or prosthetic teeth to be mounted on them. With All-on-4 reconstruction, four implants are placed on the top of the mouth and/or four are placed on the bottom of the mouth to serve as a strong, restorative anchoring system for your new teeth. From there, a denture will be placed on the four implants and create a brand new smile for you.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN GETTING ALL-ON-4 RECONSTRUCTION?
After your free consultation with one of our dentists and a treatment plan is created, it will be time for the procedure! Once the day of the procedure begins, the implants will be placed and the patient will leave the office with a beautiful temporary set of teeth until the implants are fully fused with the jawbone and the jawbone heals. After the mouth is fully healed, the patient will come back in to have their custom set of permanent teeth placed onto the implants.
HOW DO YOU CLEAN ALL-ON-FOUR DENTAL IMPLANTS?
After the procedure, you will want to rinse with salt water to clean your mouth. Then, your all-on-four dental implants will be able to be cleaned just like regular teeth. Keep up with brushing twice a day, flossing once a day, and visiting your dentist regularly to help maintain your new smile.
HOW LONG DO ALL-ON-FOUR IMPLANTS LAST?
When all-on-four dental implants are properly cared for, they should last forever. This type of procedure is looked at as a permanent dental solution and has a record of long-term success for most patients.
